Table 03 Craps

Craps looks chaotic because the felt shows every bet at once.

Underneath is one simple round, decided by two dice. Learn the pass line and the odds bet (the cheapest wagers in the casino) and you can ignore most of the table.

Why 7 rules the game

Two dice make 36 equally likely combinations. Six of them add to 7, more than any other total.

    Rolls: 0

    The round, in three steps

    1. Come-out roll. Pass line wins on 7 or 11 ("natural") and loses on 2, 3 or 12 ("craps").
    2. A point is set. Any 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 becomes the point, and the dealer flips the puck to ON over that number.
    3. Point or seven. Roll the point again before a 7 and the pass line wins. A 7 first ("seven-out") loses, and the dice pass to the next shooter.

    Taking odds

Once a point is set you can add an odds bet behind your pass line. It pays exactly the true odds, so it carries no house edge at all.
